I have told each of them to produce their own words and pictures to go in this section of my pages. This will be like our family scrapbook and picture album rolled into one (but one that we don't mind making public). I'm sure that no-one else is interested anyway but nonetheless here they are.
| Peter Fat, balding, arrogant, vegetarian computer scientist and frustrated archaeologist. Anglo-Italian by blood, the learnt English reserve masks the natural Italian passion. A mixture of cultural identity crisis and mediterranean eye for style overcome the British strait-laced understatement, but only in the recognition of others - hence a love of Alfa Romeo cars, Roman wine, Neapolitan pizza, Sophia Loren, the sound of the fountains of Rome; hence also a detestation of following popular fashion, being one more sheep in a flock. In almost every aspect of life an individual: Catholic in a protestant/pagan country; Vegetarian pacifist in a blood-lust society; Intellectual in a prosaic culture; Macintosh evangelist in a sadly retarded PC world; Engineer in a nation that translates "Ingenieur" as mechanic; Professional in a short-termist City. Standing up to be counted - ONE. |
Alison Anglo-Scot paternally (nee Murray) and Welsh maternally, Alison is proud of her Celtic heritage and describes herself as descended from a long line of Welsh witches. Also a vegetarian Catholic pacifist, Alison is happiest when she is able to exercise her talents as an iconographer. Palpably devotional, her icons are at the same time consistent with traditional elements while being stunningly realistic. |
Alexander A handsome combination of his Roman and Celtic heritage, Alexander easily passes for Italian with dark hair and eyes and readily tanned complexion. Unimpressed by sports his spare time is filled with books, videos, Lego and K'nex. His eye for design manifests in impressive Lego models, usually of space ships. |
Raffaella A strawberry blonde, Raffaella's hair becomes like spun gold in the summer sunlight. Despite her Italian name, her pale complexion, freckles and hair belie her Celtic heritage. Almost obsessed with reading, she also finds time for her collection of Barbie dolls, Lego and K'nex. Most of the time she can be located by her constant stream of song (usually improvised to enhance the story of her current game). |
